Information For Parents

Parent Information

Welcome to Diamond Valley United Soccer Club

We are so glad to have you join the Valley team! This guide provides information on frequently asked questions about playing and volunteering at the club.

DVUSC are a family friendly club open to all age groups, boys, girls and backgrounds. The club is run and managed by volunteers that devote their time on a weekly basis with keeping the lights on, kids on the ground, and senior men’s and women’s teams on the park, week in week out.

The DVUSC Committee contact details are on the club website or in the Team Managers handbook. Contact your Team Manager directly for a copy of the handbook.

  • Registration
Early registration and payments are required to finalise team lists. Draft teams are organised but can only be finalised upon receipt of official registration and payment.
  • Team Support
The Club caters to several junior teams and there may be occasions when teams are short on numbers and require players as top up players. Club coaches, players and parents work together to ensure each team is supported and has sufficient players.
  • Training and Playing Venues
DVUSC have three venues for training and playing. Partingtons Flat, Central Park and Petrie Park. Parents and siblings are to remain off the playing arena at all times.

The Club Uniform and Apparel Officer manages all uniform orders and queries; contact details are on the club website. Please ensure all uniform queries are directed to the Club Uniform and Apparel Officer and not committee members.

The Club appreciates your understanding and patience with the ordering and supply of uniforms and we remind you that this is managed by a volunteer. This task is very labour and time intensive and our orders compete with over 330 clubs across Victoria all requesting uniforms at the same time. This high volume demand may on occasion result in delays that are typically caused at the suppliers end and are out of the club’s control.
The club encourages early registration and ordering of uniforms in October the previous year to avoid delays.

Parental supervision is required during both training and games. Children are not to be dropped off at any venue and left unsupervised. Parents are responsible for their child in the event of accident or injury.
The club expects children to behave respectfully and responsibly during training and games. Poor behaviour will not be tolerated and the child may be removed from the training/game.

DVUSC is a club run by volunteers and expects all club members and families to volunteer. It is only with everyone’s involvement and participation that the club can function and flourish.

Volunteers help to keep registration costs down and raise funds for special extras for the club; these extras contribute to better training equipment and skills development programs.

Grandparents, Uncles and Aunts are all welcome to volunteer; activities may involve helping out in the canteen, running the BBQ and supporting working bees.

  • Canteen
Each team is required to provide volunteers for the canteen during home games. The Team Manager will develop a canteen volunteer roster and generally, each family is expected to assist at least once or twice a year.
  • Cleaning
Volunteers maintain the cleaning of the club. Please be respectful when using the clubrooms and facilities.

The fixture for the first three rounds of the home and away season generally changes as over 33,000 games in Victoria commence and the teams settle into the new season. Please check fixtures on a weekly basis during the first few weeks of the season.

Car parking at the clubrooms at Partingtons Flat is limited. Please ensure you park in parking bays and not across other parked cars. This creates a bottleneck and safety hazard.

Disabled parking is provided for members and visitors that display a valid disabled parking permit.

The Club does not have a weather policy however where a large amount of rain has fallen and the ground is unplayable, the club will contact all coaches on the morning of training and advise to make other training arrangements. The club allocates funds for coaches to book indoor venues as an alternate training option.
Training does occur when it rains and the temperature is cold so please do not assume training is off because of rain. Your coaches and team managers will advise if training is cancelled.

A big part of the DVUSC clubs culture is a sense of belonging and what better way than to socialise with club families. Various social events are organized throughout the year for junior and senior members, as well as all family functions.

Past social events include Trivia nights, Presentation events, Ladies nights and Pizza nights.

What the heck do we care?
Hail Hail the Valley’s is here
What the heck do we care now?
For it’s a grand ol team to play for
Oh it’s a grand ol team to see,
And if you know the history,
It’s enough to make your heart go
oh!, oh!, oh!, oh!
We don’t care what the others say,
What the heck do we care,
For we only know that there gonna be a show
And the Valley boys/girls will be there!
Was it one? Was it two?
Was it (and so on
